Something in this feels a little like a precursor to A Curse So Dark and Lonely. The main characters are both grieving, have terribly broken family relationships. It's a really good YA story and because of the grief, less fluffy than many YA stories. Brigid Kemmerer is pretty brilliant and I'm astonished and jealous that she is writing fantastic books while parenting four kids and meanwhile I can barely get my act together to vacuum once in awhile.
