Dr. Nicky Covo fled his hometown as a Jew during the Holocaust, leaving behind his parents and two sisters. Now, living in America, he has kids of his own and a grandson while fighting the demons of his past. One day, he gets a letter from a nun stating that she believes that his youngest sister is alive and at the monastery. Between dealing with family issues, rekindling an old flame, and now this, Nicky is reluctant to believe what this nun says to be true. He decides to take the trip to Greece and see for himself. His demons await him. Is this mysterious new nun really his sister Kal? Or does the trip become his undoing?
A lot of different factions of people are featured in this book. There are different mental illnesses and religions throughout the book. The characters are relatable and the story is realistic. Believers and non-believers a like can enjoy this book. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
