I was so excited when I saw Prime First Reads had an Abby Jimenez short story! Obviously I didn't even think twice and snagged this immediately. 

Charlotte and Seth are next door neighbors on the second floor of their apartment building. When one Friday morning they see that the stairs leading to the first floor are gone, they're stumped. Is this really happening? Both opt to stay in their homes over the weekend until the new stairs are brought in on Monday. Neither expects their life or their outlook to change so dramatically in such a short time, but it turns out losing some stairs can help them gain so much. 

This was perfection. Short stories usually leave me wanting, but this had it all and had me laughing out loud. It was witty and well written, as is every Abby story.
