I loved this book. This is my second Brandon Sanderson book and he has obviously become my favourite author this year, hands down.
The world building is perfect. The characters were pretty well written with the exception that they sounded a bit young for their age. The magic system was interesting and unique and gave the book that young feel.
Some parts of this book actually spooked me a little because I was not expecting the book to have scary/creepy elements at all. It actually caught me bu surprise and it doesn’t help that I have a very active imagination.
It’s a perfect book for the younger portion of the young adult category and of course the older young adilt crowd can still enjoy this book. I’m in my late 30s and I love it!
Similar to Elantris, the book’s pace picks up towards the end of the story that I feel like I’m not reading fast enough to catch up keeping me at the edgw of mu seat and then the ending just had me wanting more.
Mr Sanderson, please continue on with the story. I want more from this world and I want to see how Joel and Melody grow up and what becomes of them. Thank you very much.
