This book combined memoir and true crime, which I don’t think is a good (reliable) combination. The author’s story about her experiences as a PI, childhood, abuse, and relationships felt like a strange mix with the Title IX case. Just seemed like 2 separate stories, awkwardly woven together. I think it would be better presented solely as a memoir. I try to be more generous when “rating” memoirs, but this just had too many glaring issues in my opinion.
Graphic: Rape and Sexual assault
Moderate: Child abuse
