Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati
Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.
I’m just so bored.
You could read her story in a college greek mythology course and it’d be the same vibe.
The writing is so straightforward, there’s nothing of Madeline Miller’s lyrical writing to be found here, which would be fine if that wasn’t what the publisher used to try and market the book. This doesn’t feel like compelling storytelling, it feels like the narrator is a bored high schooler being asked to read from the textbook out loud.
I know it probably gets better once the main event happens and she goes full rage mode but I don’t care to waste my time getting there.
