I think it was quite...let's call it unfortunate that the "slur" that the "Others" use to refer to humans and that originated in the continent of "Afrikah" is "monkey". And the "Others" saying "some even look like them" doesn't peticularly help.

Best case the (I am assuming white) author is just oblivious regarding the weird coincidence...
