There’s no doubt for me that Randy Balls is my favourite. It’s been a while since I first read this novella, but it’s just as good as the first time around.

Lily is busy teaching skating and Randy’s anxious about the upcoming season. He’s actually agitated over a couple of things..Lily’s student and the calls from his father. The trip away with the gang should easy some tension, even if it’s only for the weekend. Randy is not big on surprises, and the one that awaits his return isn’t wanted. Lily’s patience is also put to the test with their visitor.

The epilogue is cute, with Randy holding his first newborn and thinking this could be something he might like further, way further down the track. But there’s nothing like a rescue dog to look after in the mean time.

I added the audio this time and Jacob Morgan is perfect for Randy. I do wish this was a duet style narration as it would have been so much better having him deliver all Randy’s lines. Rose does a good Lily too, I’m just not a fan of her male voices.
