While this would be difficult to read as a standalone, I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the first two books, so that is ok. As we see Dannie and their friends beginning to heal from their encounters with Eric, we begin to learn how truly strong these characters are. While Kennedy did a great job introducing us to everyone, it is amazing to watch them change and develop like anyone would after going through as much as they have. I was rooting for them all, both to heal and to move forward with their lives and loves. Thats a sign that I’m truly invested in these characters. I have to admit I wasn’t sure what more there could be after book two. I thought we knew who did it, and why. In typical fashion, those minor unanswered questions seemed insignificant. Until book 3! To discover the why behind the villain, and how victims were actually chosen, kept me enthralled and turning the pages with anticipation. I refuse to give spoilers -so I will simply say you must read this series. I was left wondering a few things about Eric’s family and background. I would have like to hear a bit more about what drove them, especially mom.
