Lights Out by Navessa Allen

5.0

I can’t believe I’m going to rate a dark stalker romance 5 stars, but I just can’t help myself. I loved everything about this. The audiobook was fantastic, the narration was absolutely perfect, and the story itself was so much fun.
I read a lot of dark romance and I kind of hate them sometimes because they are so unrealistic and toxic and just go so overboard with the tropes. But this book was the most amazing blend of everything I love about some of the dark tropes without trying too hard to make it real. It was dark while being healthy, over the top in comedic ways without being concerning or just utterly unbelievable. Most of all, the characters were so lovable.
I also might be in the minority with this a bit, but I loved that the book had another plot aside from the romance and her figuring out who the masked man was. It might have been the most unbelievable portion, but I’m a huge fan of seeing how a couple works through things together and I loved seeing them go through a truly traumatic experience together as a team. I never wanted the book to end.
I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a dark romance that can also make you laugh.
