Did not expect this to grip me as much as it did in the last quarter: This is when the characters' interiority really shines. Still, I'd like to wring Instetten's neck... for marrying her in the first place and for his pride! It was heartbreaking to see how little mind the other characters paid her well-being, especially her parents and of course Instetten, who kept her more like a pretty dog than a wife. 

One of my favourite moments is her emotional outburst after meeting her daughter again and I also love the image of her strolling between fields in her linen dress, solitary, except for her loyal Rollo...
