I had a hard time finishing this one. The POV character reads like a deranged white mom on TikTok who is convinced there are gang members just waiting in every parking lot to kidnap their kid. I was so grossed our by this diluted helicopter parenting that any virtue this has as an early example of unreliable narration was lost on me.
