Interesting read

I've heard a lot about this series and as I love a mafia story finally picked this one up. The story is mostly from morana's pov. She has a complicated relationship with her father and the life she was brought up in. For me she didn't scream mafia princess, which I liked. She tried to take her own path, bevit twisted by those around her. She managed to find friends in foes and learn a few home truths along the way. Tristan is a silent predator. There's lots of stalking and watching with him. I would have like to see his pov more, but I guess it added to his character that he didn't give himself away. Intriguing plot that is still being explored at the end of the book. So many things still not discovered. So I can't wait to start book 2 to find out where they will lead.
