Everyone kept telling me to read it, and so I finally read it. I hate everyone who recommended it to me. Not because I think the book is bad, but because it was great, and I wasn't expecting to get so into it like I did. I will say that it took me a while to get into it, but once you get past the first 106 pages, it does pick up and get better. Just hang in there for a bit and let it ride. When there's a lot of hype over a particular book, I get nervous. But this one proved me wrong. Now I want a dragon and be a bad ass with some leathers on.

The story is of Violet, who, instead of attending the program that she has been training all her life for, has been told by the general that she's going to apply and train to be a dragon rider. This throws everyone into a whirlwind, including Violet.
