5 stars.
I’m glad I loaned this book out from the library when I saw that it was available. It was the perfect pick-me-up-and-pull-me-out-of-a-potential-reading-slump read. It was refreshing after reading all those heavy mystery/thriller and sci-fi I was in the mood for in October.
I jumped into this book not knowing much except that it was a book about a witch who broke up with a warlock and then, together with her cousin, cursed him and many years later he came back to her town and things started to go wrong because of her curse so they had to work together to right that wrong. I was not expecting all the steamy scenes. I thought that it would be funny, quirky and just an overall fluffy quick read with a touch of magic and for the most part it was.
I’m not comfortable with reading steamy scenes but the story was just so enjoyable that I didn’t feel like I could give it less than 5 stars. I think the sex scenes were done tastefully so I wasn’t hard for me to overlook my discomfort of it as I rated this book.
Erin Sterling’s writing and storytelling style was easy to get into and had a fluffy kind of quality in a good way that makes you feel warm and fuzzy and cozy in your heart and puts a smile on your face. I would love to read more books from her.
