For starters, as a debut novel, this was very good! The story is sweet and intriguing, the characters are loveable and interesting, and the writing is pretty good. Both our MCs, Arrick and Evan, worked very well together, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship progression and their individual character development. I will say, at times, Arrick's secretive history felt a little convoluted at times, and it took a while before we got the whole story. So, it made some points a little confusing. I'm all for a mystery reveal and getting little clues along the way, but I think it could have been executed more effectively than it was. That said, this was still a super enjoyable story, and that ending really has me looking forward to the next book!
