Kenobi: Star Wars by John Jackson Miller

4.0

3.5/5
I can't say this was a bad read but I can't also say that I enjoyed it as much as I expected I would. The title is simply bad advertising for this story considering that Ben Kenobi feels like a secondary character to a Tatooine neighborhood drama. The neighborhood drama in question was compelling and had interesting twists and a satisfying ending, nevertheless, this is not what one expects from a book with a title like this. I feel like I would enjoy this story more if the first 3/4 of it was a bit more fast-paced and we got more of Obi-Wan's perspective instead of Orrin's sales pitches. I really liked Annileen and getting to know more of Tatooine but I just wish it was balanced more with Obi-Wan's chapters to live up to the title. Overall, this is a good Star Wars read, but don't get fooled by the synopsis. This is a novel about Tatooine's locals and their conflicts with Tusken Raiders and Obi-Wan is also there sometimes while he's failing to keep low profile after Episode III.
