This is easily one of my favorite books that I have ever read. It is one of the most inspiring, and well-written, biographies that I have read. It provides insight into the lives of soldiers fighting in WW2, as well as their lives upon return. Additionally, considering it is a biography, there is a great amount of action. It is captivating and uplifting. It would be good for older students, as well, because it provides a far deeper lesson than any history textbook could ever give.
