This was so freaking sad for so much of the book.
Plus it was a slow burn. We don’t get even a kiss until like halfway in, and then nothing else really happens for another good 10% or so. And even then we only get that with one of the men and it’s sort of a hate fuck, honestly.
So.
It’s emotionally taxing, with hardly any relief. Figuratively. And literally.
