The premise was so interesting - all the white people in America walk into the nearest body of water and drown. Charlie Brunton, a Black man, is contacted by his daughter Sidney– whom he has never met. She is biracial but identifies as white, and wants to get from Wisconsin to Alabama where she believes she has white relatives there who have survived. Their road trip was actually my favorite part of the book. I think I struggled with the magical realism and sci-fi elements in the story, which often happens to me. It was interesting and I'd like to see what Campbell writes best but it was a bit uneven for me.
