The Ape That Understood the Universe: How the Mind and Culture Evolve by Steve Stewart-Williams

I first read this earlier this last year, and felt I missed something. After a reread it seems like actually the book was missing something. It really covers the basics of evolutionary psychology and anthropology, and doesn't add much novel stuff. Comparing it to the other big book in the niche, The Naked Ape, which is now like 50 years old, there is very little new stuff here. Yes, it fixes some of the old inaccuracies and biases, but also adds a whole new load of them on top. The tone is also very condescending and petulant. I am not happy :(
