So glad I read this book. This is a perfect introduction to the thriller genre for me. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the Greystone Secrets series and possibly more books by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
She did not take her time into building the mystery and tension in her story. She went straight into it from page 1. She kept me at the edge of my seat and gripping my iPad while I followed the words on the ebook as I listened to the audiobook at 2x speed. The audiobook was great by the way. The reader’s performance added to the tension in the story.
Haddix craftily built the tension as she revealed the information bit by bit. With each reveal, the tension knot tightens.
I love it. This was an easy 5 stars for me. Definitely recommending this book to my students.
