The Girls I've Been by Tess Sharpe

5.0

Nora O'Malley has three problems: 1) The night before, her ex boyfriend and best friend walked in on her and her new girlfriend. A girlfriend he was not aware existed. 2) The three of them are responsible for depositing money from a school fundraiser together the next day. 3) Moments after arriving at the bank, two dudes with guns show up to rob it. But to her advantage is this critical fact: her name is not, in fact, Nora O'Malley, she was raised by a con artist, and she is willing to do what it takes - whatever it takes - to survive.

YOU GUYS. THIS BOOK. It will be a real surprise to me if this doesn't end up on my top 10 list at the end of the year. I could not put it down. I laughed. I gasped. I cried. As we learn more and more about how Nora got to be Nora, and about all the other girls she's been, the tension and suspense ratchets up. An unexpectedly moving page turner, I just cannot recommend this enough. Lots of CW for violence (sexual assault, domestic violence, murder, fires, and more).
