The Hemlock Queen by Hannah Whitten
5.0
Congratulations to @hwhittenwrites on a fantastic second book in her trilogy! The book did not suffer from middle book syndrome, where you feel like it's all review and filler to get you from the first book to the third. Instead, we got full-fledged characters with new issues, a LOT more about the gods of this world, and nail-biting drama. Our FMC Lore is still a bada$$ with insecurity issues, her heart torn between two men that she cannot have, and is hanging on to life with everything she has. Her two possible loves, though, are both struggling as well with the issues that the botched eclipse ritual from the previous book has created. In a world where the gods are not necessarily a good thing, these three and their friends have terrible, world-breaking issues to face and I was 👏 here 👏 for every 👏 moment!
