Wicked Fox by Kat Cho

5.0

I loved this book so much I'm struggling to figure out what I want to say in full. lol

This was just such a great read from start to finish. Miyoung and Jihoon were such a great pair to lead this story. I loved how Kat Cho wrote them so well and entertaining. It felt like I was reading a K-Drama the entire time.

A few other things I really enjoyed:

I loved how between some chapters the reader was treated to some history about gumihos, and particularly one character in the book. This did a great job of filling in the reader slowly, without feeling like an info dump some authors tend to toss in the readers' laps.

Cho also did a good job at throwing some twists in there that were completely unexpected, especially one key one I won't divulge here. I was like WHAAAAAAAAAT.

I also really liked some low key references to Korean entertainment, without actually being completely specific. There was a mention of the K-Drama, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, and Hong Jin Young's song "Love Battery".

I can't wait for the sequel, and I think I have a good idea of how to tide me over until book 2. It just might be time to wipe the dust of my DVD set of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and remove it from my pile of shame of unwatched K-Dramas because I need more gumihos in my life.
