This is one of those books that I heard so many good things about from when it first came out up to date but just never got around to reading it because what if I didn’t like it or was not in the mood for it.
I’m so glad I just decided to pick it up regardless of my bad mood because I love it. I’m definitely going to recommend this book to my students. The writing style was easy to get into and I only put it down because I had to sleep and I finished reading the next time I was able to pick it up again.
This book made me tear up and then made me smile again. It is relatable and I wished that I had parents like Auggie’s while I was growing up. They were so resilient and kind and encouraging and just amazing.
