The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
4.0
So fun to re-read this fun YA classic from my childhood... this is the story of a mischievous 12 yo Tom Sawyer and his circle of friends who are naughty trouble makers but simple and innocent at the same time. Following Tom and his friends through their daily adventures was nothing but nostalgic to the innocence of childhood & discovery... along the way painting vivid images such as the vignettes where Tom tricks his friends to whitewash his aunts fence for him, to their island disappearance while pirating, walking in on their own funeral, their midnight cemetery mischief resulting in witnessing a murder, later stepping forward to do the right thing, the high of the glory of childhood fame, the jealousy of his first crush, the persistence of finding his way when trapped in a cave and ultimately finding the buried treasure.... I couldn't help but listen to the audio with a permanent smile on my face... the audio was stupendously acted out by the different voices of William Dufris... just delightful.
