Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

5.0

Wow!!! Just, wow. What a great story, and what a great storyteller. Listen to the audiobook if you have the choice. Trevor Noah narrates it himself and his voice is fantastic. It's so funny, I was in stitches through most of it. But it's a serious story too, and powerful, one I won't ever forget. One thing that comes through so clearly is his love for his mother, and it's easy to see why he loves her. She's a force of nature, as is he. I do wish there could be a second volume of this--I'd love to know how he got from South Africa to the Daily Show.
