I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
challenging
dark
emotional
reflective
sad
fast-paced
This was emotional, heavy, and really well written. I'd be interested in reading more from Jennette in the future. I hope she keeps writing.
Graphic: Addiction, Alcoholism, Body shaming, Cancer, Child abuse, Cursing, Eating disorder, Emotional abuse, Self harm, Sexual content, Toxic relationship, Vomit, Grief, and Death of parent
Heavy trigger warnings so be aware before going in. Particularly, if you have an eating disorder or struggle with body image issues, this could be triggering as Jennette is honest and detailed about her experience. She also writes as if you are right there with her in her mind in those moments. There is very little removal/space mentally just from the nature of how it's written.
