The Keeper by P.S. Whytock
4.0
I really enjoyed this debut novel and definitely recommend it.
Summary:
Annabelle is turning 21 and in the days leading up to her birthday she struggles with her grasp on reality as her dreams seem to be invading her nights as well as her daytime.
After a fated encounter at a masquerade ball, Annabelle confronts her mother for the truth of her dreams.
Learning she was the chosen Keeper of the forest, Annabelle must leave the safety of her childhood home and set out on a path to discover the enchantments of the Fae and explore the part of her that is immortal as darkness closes over the forest, Annabelle has to make a choice to fight for the magic of the forest or hold on to the last shreds of her mortality.
Review:
This writer has a lovely writing style and eloquent and descriptions phrasing that really conjures the imagery of her story, setting and characters. The beginning of the book was a little redundant but once Annabelle and her mother set out for the forest, the dynamics of the story really took shape.
I’m excited to see the story continue with book 2!
