Growing up as a kid in the 80’s, this book served as a fun nostalgia filled trip down memory lane of so many fond memories of games and movies and television that I enjoyed as a youth. It also served as a grim reminder of the importance of interacting with the real world and how so often we can get lost in our own little fantasy worlds that we lose touch with the things that are important. About halfway through, I actually began feeling sorry for the characters in the story as they truly had no life outside of their virtual environment and that made me appreciate my reality even more. Had I not been an 80’s kid this probably would have only garnered 4 stars from me but the added nostalgia bumped it up one notch.
