Warning: don't do what I did and read this book without first reading the first book in the series! It was well-written and I did enjoy reading it even after I realized it was a sequel. However, there were a lot of references to things that presumably happened in the previous book, and I expect that what was a good book on its own would be a great book with the context of the previous one.
