Lonely Castle in the Mirror by Mizuki Tsujimura

5.0

“It seems to me like you’ve struggled so hard up till now. And are battling even now.”
.
I laughed with them and cried for them, and just like them, I was in shock, happiness, and excitement at it every moment of their adventure.
.
We start our journey with a teenage girl named "Kokoro". She refuses to go to school for a reason we don't know and decides to stay at home and never go out.
But suddenly, in her room, the mirror begins to glow and turns into a magical portal that transports "Kokoro" to a magical world far from her real world.
She finds there 6 teenagers in this magical castle.
And there's a little girl, called "The Wolf Queen" she tells them about the laws of this magical place and that they can fulfill one wish, but of course, before that they must search for a special key that allows them to enter The Wishing Room.

We all wonder what will happen to "Kokoro" and the rest of the teenagers, what is their next step, but most importantly, how was their life before entering the castle? and what they have in common?
This is what we will know in this beautiful story.
.
It is definitely one of my favorite books.
The characters and the development of the story were beautiful and interesting.
As we already know about Japanese literature, it's have a slow-paced and heartwarming story. And I LOVED it.
I wouldn't change a single thing about it, I loved everything in this book, and the ending.... was astounding in every meaning.

Although the rank of the novel is considered YA fiction, but there are important sides mentioned in the story,
(bullying, sexual abuse, and the psychological state experienced by teenage students.)
Therefore, this book is very important because it focuses the light on the dark side of our society.

.

“We’ll fight this. It might be a long battle, but let’s fight it.”
