I listened to this as an audiobook while I was in the woods beside my house and it perfectly captures the sensory experience of being among trees. The descriptions of Finch’s connection with the woods was so mystical and brilliant, this is definitely one of my favourite nature themed reads. I loved Tobias’s quiet, gentle nature. The lore was intriguing and for a short book I feel it packed a lot in. The audio narrator was excellent, he made Tobias’s voice so treelike and it’s hard to describe but it was just grumbly and gentle. Definitely give this a read if you’re interested 🌿🌻
