🖤Manhunt by Gretchen Felker-Martin

There’s definitely a new genre emerging in queer literature that features body horror, current or impending apocalypses and mutation. I’m all for it, as specific as it is I’ve enjoyed every book of this sub-genre so far: Wilder Girls, Hell Followed With Us, What Moves the Dead, Our Wives Under the Sea, and Bound in Flesh. Manhunt hits hard on the gore, trauma and controversial topics. It was action packed from start to finish and a really interesting take on the concept of an apocalyptic world without men from a trans perspective. It was gut-wrenching and raw and very uncomfortable, but it was a worthwhile read even if I think its handling of topics such as SA was poor. 🌿🌻
