How To Solve Your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin
4.0
How to Solve Your Own Murder follows Annie who has been summoned by Great Aunt Frances to meet her due to a sudden change in her Will. Sadly that does not get to happen as France died before they could meet. Upon this death, Annie is told about a fortune that her aunt was given in the 1960s that she was obsessed with and now to get her inheritance she must solve Frances possible murder before other family members, and the police do.
The fortune that she became obsessed with.
“Your future contains dry bones. Your slow demise begins right when you hold the Queen in the palm of your hand. Beware the bird, for it will betray you. And, from that, there is no coming back. But daughters are the key to justice, find the right one and keep her close. All signs point toward your murder.”
Annie digs into Frances life by reading her journals and going through the files she kept on everyone she came into contact with. This leads Annie into some rather dangerous situations as she tries to solve the present-day murder, and stumbles into some secrets that people would rather have not be known.
Overall this story was so fun to read, the mysteries within the mystery were done so well in my opinion. I am so glad there are going to be more books set in this world as I feel like there is so much more to explore by going through all the information Frances had on everyone. The author did a great job of weaving the story together and showing what happened in the past that led to what is going on in the present, so many connecting parts that it could have gotten confusing but it didn't. The mystery part of this book wrapped up nicely at the end and I loved how we got answers to the most pressing issues that were shown throughout the story.
I can't wait to read book two!
