Jayber Crow by Wendell Berry
5.0
We are frail, but love is eternal. Life is beautiful, and thus painful. We have many questions about life, and must live our lives to find the answers. Every time I re-read this rich novel, Jayber’s story resonates more deeply with me as I, too, delve more deeply into the paradoxes and mysteries of existence. Faith, says Jayber, “is not necessarily, or not soon, a resting place. Faith puts you out on a wide river in a little boat, in the fog, in the dark.” However, “there is a light that includes our darkness, a day that shines down even on the clouds.”
