Extremely sweet and loving. It made me feel really happy. I can't come up with a more detailed review because I honestly sped-read it; I wanted to know what was going to happen next immediately, so I don't have a lot of nit-picks. I thought the characters were very genuine and I loved their relationships with one another. I felt like the pacing was spot-on and the drama kept me reading it until I finished basically in one sitting. It has a lot of cute moments and I was pleased with the ending. Definitely read if you want a book with LGBT solidarity/acceptance between teens and pride in being a dark-skinned person of color, particularly of the Mexican-American sort, and you want to smile a lot while reading. The biggest downside I could see might be that it can ring as cheesy with the whole "made of stardust" theme but I love magical realism so I felt like, written in that genre, it was a perfect element that didn't come across that way.
