Buzzy book! I enjoyed it well enough but am not over the moon about it. Well imagined tight little world, interesting characters. The writing style is trying a little too hard at times and has this weird mix of ordinary SFF style and then occasional "young people speak this way" phrases interjected that I guess are authentic but seem a bit odd. Also the whole plot setup was a little too "Harry Potter and the Secret of the Necromancer Palace", I never could figure out if the characters were supposed to be adults, or teenagers, or what. Criticism aside it's a good and enjoyable book and I will gladly read the sequel when it comes.
