The Diary of a Young Girl by Mirjam Pressler, Anne Frank, Otto H. Frank
5.0
The best, most well known account of life for Jews during WWII in Holland. The family goes into hiding in 1942 and lives in two floors above a warehouse in Amsterdam. They can never go outside and rely completely on the support of friends. Ann goes from age 13 to 15 in the book. In the midst of the fear and tension of being in hiding, Ann is experiencing the emotional roller coaster of growing up. Very powerful and very moving.
