The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson

4.0

Jenna feels strange. It feels like she's learning everything for the first time. She's been in a coma for a year and a half. Her family no longer lives in Boston, her friends are gone, and her grandmother, Lily, can't seem to stand her. As her memories start to come back, Jenna really wonders what's happened to her. The truth sets her back and makes her question her very existence. You see, Jenna almost died in a horrible car crash. Her entire body and 90% of her brain have been replaced with Bio-Gel and skin grafts. Jenna is illegal and her parents could be in huge trouble if she's discovered. Jenna doesn't know what to think. Should she be allowed to live? Is she really Jenna? How far should science really be allowed to go.

A combination of prose and poetry. Jenna's story is powerful and heart-wrenching. It's told in 1st person and we only know what Jenna does. Reminded me of Robin Wasserman's books too.
