Die Verschwörer von Kalare by Andreas Helweg, Jim Butcher

Why o why did let this lie around unread for over two years? This book is so awesome! It's characters (TAVI!!!!!!!!, MAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Faede, Ehren, Kitai, Bernard, Amara *flails*) are awesome! The story is awesome! The elements are awesome! I just *loves*.

I got stuck with this book on page 150 years ago because I didn't like the direction Isana was taking with being in league with Fürstin (oi, no idea what the titles are in english, I've read the first three parts in german) Aquitania and feared bad things to come. Yeah, bad things came but thankfully Isana wasn't involved in them that much and I hope that she manages to get away from Aquitania. We'll see what happens in the next parts.

I loved Tavi being thrown to the frontline and having to guide and fight with his men. His doubts, his strengh, his faith in his men, his not giving up - such huge buttons for me. *loves*

I also loved seeing Amara once again in action. Wonderful!

Also, at the end? Tavi suddenly being able to turn off the lights? *WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH* HOW? WHY? *flails* As much as I love that Tavi has no Elements (and the message the books give due to that) - I want him to discover that he has Elements and how to deal with them and learn to work with them. *wants* But since Kitai can do this too - Oh boy, I'm so curious! *makes grabby hands*

Oh, I also can't wait for Tavi to find out that he is the Octavian and the heir to Alera. *rubs hands*

I'm so, so, so, so, so much in love with Tavi and Max. Seriously. I wanted to skip over all the other storylines and just keep reading about Tavi and Max. Their friendship. Their banter. Their loyalty. Max reassuring Tavi and being an awesome friend. Tavi being an awesome friend. I love these two so, so, so, so much. If Max ever goes killed - I think that will be the first time I'll write an author and it won't be a *squeee* letter. Just saying.

I'm not quite sure about the looming lovestory between Isana and Faede. I love Faede and the sacrifices that he made in order to protect Tavi but the lovestory angle sours that a bit for me. :/

So, I'm again in love with this series and can't wait to get the next part, in english!
