I went into this book with high hopes and it did not disappoint. The worldbuilding was a bit confusing and intense, but honestly the whole book go into it for the gay and the vibes and you'll have a great time. I listened to the audiobook in night while doing a jigsaw puzzle and stayed up to like 3 am to finish it. I think that critiquing this book for instalove is valid, especially considering the enemies to lovers speedrun, but it honestly just worked for me. If you like history, the romanticism of leters/epistolary novels, and insane gay women I think you'll enjoy this one a lot.
