The Akhenaten Adventure by P.B. Kerr

3.5 stars Tyler (8yrs) said. He said he liked it, but there are some books that are better.

Update 3/9/13:
I read this book as well. I agree with Tyler, a 3-star book. It started off feeling slow and very formulaic. That may not be completely fair to the book as I have been reading lots of other books in the genre recently...Percy Jackson, etc. Still, it felt like a bland unfolding and took me a while to get into the story.

I did enjoy the bits where Nimrod, Mr. Groanin and Mr. Rakshasas share/discuss the philosophy of wishes and also the notion of what happens when ones wishes are granted and the consequences involved. I also liked that there were consequences to the djinn every time they granted wishes. It added another dynamic that I appreciated. The Egyptology details involved were interesting as well.

I agree 100% with Tyler, it is a good book, but there are better ones out there in this genre.
