Great world-building and lore. I'm not a huge fan of romance as a genre in general, but the romance here was pretty good. The enemies-to-lovers beat was a little too fast-paced for my liking, but otherwise Furi and Yeeran's relationship is sweet. The plot was pretty light – no real political intrigue or grand fantasy adventure, but it was serviceable and the plot twist(s) at the end did manage to catch me by surprise. It's also nice to just have a fantasy that's explicitly revolver around Black characters. Overall, a pretty alright read.
