This story within a story follows writer Monique Grant as she interviews Everlyn Hugo as she explains her life story, including (but not limited to) her seven husbands.

This book had me absolutely hooked, I read the second half of it in one sitting. This book is beautiful and nostalgic of a past Hollywood whist still showing the not so nice things just below the surface, while drawing me in with a story that broke my heart and kept me guessing to the end.

The characters are complex with Reid not afraid to show their ugly sides, creating more human and rounded characters.

This is my first time reading a Taylor Jenkins Reid book but I will definitely pick up some others after this!
