A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

adventurous challenging dark emotional hopeful mysterious sad tense medium-paced

4.0

This series keeps sucking me into it and I am 100% totally fine with that! This did feel like a conclusion to the whole Hybern situation and the ending had all the emotions coming out. I did start to tear up at the end when Feyre and Rhys were fixing the Cauldron and I was in disbelief! However, all was well and
Rhys was brought back to life thanks to all the High Lords, including Tamlin who I still do not care for, and Feyre. I really enjoyed the beginning with Feyre destroying the Spring Court from the inside even though it maybe wasn't the smartest plan overall. The story turned towards the better when Feyre was reunited with her family in the Night Court. However, I do have an issue with Feyre, Nesta, and Elain's father's death. It felt very weak within the storyline since he wasn't in the books very much. He was in the first book and mentioned in the second but overall wasn't really present. His death did not mean anything to me since I felt no attachment to him due to Feyre's relationship with him. It was almost a meaningless death that I still have no idea on the "why" aspect of it. (Maybe the TV show will develop a better, clear and deeper relationship with their father so I feel something when this moment happens if it gets to that point.)
Overall, this book was really good and I was happy with the ending. It did feel like the ending of a trilogy so I am curious on what is next for these characters because I know there is more to tell!
