On the Fence by Kasie West

2.0

I have mix feeling about this book. On the one hand, I enjoyed the family dynamics and teasing and boy next door troupe. But on the other, there were moments I was frustrated with Charlie. I get she was suppose to be a Tom girl but she seems so annoying and cringe at moments. There was a moment in the beginning were she was insensitive to a team player family dying, like grief is grief and just because a love one of your dies doesn’t give you excuse to be an ass. Like at 16 you should know. Also her brothers being very over protective got annoying. I also felt the story was written in many directions. Like there was a lot themes to focus on and not a lot of deep dives that could have been explained. I also felt Kasie didn’t let Charlie express her self with her family. Like that moment she find out the reason of her mom’s death was underwhelmed. But I love Braden and Charlie. They’re batter and interactive around the fence. I like the siblings teasing too. It reminds me of my family.
