Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

Oh my. What a bittersweet ending.

You know, it's books like Ruin and Rising that give a realistic end, that doesn't lead you to believe, that though good may have prevailed, you never get a perfect, easy, ending. There are still debts to be paid. Alina paid those debts. And through her endless search for the last amplifier, she paid the ultimate price.

This was such a beautiful story. The characters were so complex and three dimensional, I felt like I knew every little thing about them. All their secrets revealed.

This is definitely a story that will forever leave an imprint on me. And aren't those the best ones?

Leigh Bardugo did such a fantastic job at the world building in this book and I'm going to miss it deeply as I move on to my next read, but I'll forever carry it with me. And who knows, maybe I'll visit again someday. Though, it will never be the same a second time around.

Thank you, Leigh Bardugo for such an entertaining and captivating read. The Grisha series has easily became one of my favorite series. I am grateful to find another amazing set of books.

Five stars!
