Basic plot:
Whitaker Island is a getaway for people that have a past they want to hide. But the past comes to find Hansen and Tessa works with him to solve a mystery before he can be wrongly accused…
Give this a try if you want:
- contemporary romantic suspense
- island location
- lots of forced proximity
- lower relationship angst
- protective hero
- mystery to solve
- some light unrequited longing from both characters
- small town vibe – 211 residents on the island
- 6’ 3” handyman hero (he’s at least 6” taller than the heroine)
- celibate hero
- medium to higher steam – 4 full scenes (some parts are a bit light)

My thoughts:
I usually would say any type of romantic suspense is not for me, but I ended up enjoying this one. I loved how much Tessa and Hansen were together. I love the island setting. I loved all the forced proximity as they worked through the danger and mystery.
This one is relatively low angst, which isn’t really my thing but I found it comforting as an audiobook listen. I wanted a bit more sexual tension – we walk into this story already started a bit and both have a bit of unshared longing for each other that we missed on page. But I did like that they hadn’t really started a solid relationship yet so we got to see most of the fun parts.
This was my first by KelenKay Dimon and I would definitely try another. This one was a nice mix of relationship and mystery with some decent steam thrown in.
